UOSU elections give you the opportunity to make your voice heard! Every year, uOttawa undergraduate students elect the UOSU’s Board of Directors, including its Executive Committee, and members of the uOttawa Board of Governors and Senate through two elections: General Elections in the Winter and By-Elections in the Autumn.

Chief Electoral Officer

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) leads the Elections Office. They are hired by and report to the Elections Committee. The CEO is appointed for a one-year term from May 1 to April 30.

The CEO exercises general direction and supervision over the conduct of elections, referendums, and plebiscites. They are also responsible for ensuring that the Elections Office remains fair and impartial with regard to all the elections, referendums, and plebiscites that it administers.

Ben Cameron has been serving as Chief Electoral Officer since October 2024. He is currently studying Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Ottawa.
