Student Life Ambassadors

Required Hours: 2-5 hours per week during peak periods (101 Week, January, March/April)
Salary: None; volunteer position

Role Description
The University of Ottawa Students’ Union is currently seeking UOSU students to serve as Student Life Ambassadors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and facilitation of events such as 101 Week, Frost, the Student Life Awards, Fed Up, etc.
  • Welcome, guide, and assist participants during events
  • Promote initiatives, events, and services related to student life on campus
  • Distribute promotional materials and engage students in public spaces (booths, tables, etc.)
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students
  • Encourage involvement and participation in student life

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa (full-time or part-time)
  • Have a strong interest in student life and campus involvement
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a positive, reliable, and collaborative attitude
  • Have strong initiative and autonomy
  • Be adaptable to a dynamic environment
  • Be available to participate in various events (day, evening, or weekend)
  • First Aid certification and/or Smart Serve is an asset
  • Experience in facilitation, volunteering, or event organization is an asset
  • Being bilingual (French and English) or comfortable in both languages is an asset
