Safe Walk

We are excited to announce that the Safe Walk program will be launching soon! The program is designed to help students, staff, and visitors feel safe while moving around campus, especially in the evenings and late at night. The service is available 24/7, whether you don’t want to walk alone at night, or just feel unsafe on campus, you can call us and a group of volunteers will accompany you. Our volunteers will accompany participants to their destinations in groups, providing a reassuring presence and ensuring that everyone feels safe.

Join our team as a volunteer!

For the service to get started, we need volunteers. Your participation is essential to ensure the safety of our campus community.

As a volunteer, you will be able to:

  • Accompany one or more students, along with other volunteers, to their destination safely, sometimes as a walker and sometimes at the office as a dispatcher;
  • Protect your peers and make the campus safer;
  • Build connections with other volunteers;
  • Develop skills useful for your resume, including interpersonal communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and basic safety knowledge;
  • Gain confidence in your interactions with diverse individuals in a professional environment;

Volunteer shifts last 3 hours. Volunteering only requires a few hours per month, but the impact is significant. If you have a gap in your schedule between classes or some free time, this is an easy way to contribute.

If you are interested or would like more information, please contact me at safewalk-coord@seuo-uosu.com.

Stay tuned! We will let you know as soon as the service is officially ready.
