The Bike Co-op is an inclusive DIY space for beginners as well as experts, equipped with all the tools and expertise needed to repair or build a bicycle.
Our main objective is to transmit our abilities to our clients, in a warm and welcoming environment.
Our co-op is unique in the city for many reasons: a large workspace, its accessibility, the reduced cost of items in our Babac and Shimano catalogues, a publication covering all aspects of bicycle mechanics; free parts, chassis, wheels, etc.
We regularly organise free educational workshops on bicycle mechanics. It is not necessary to sign up, and the material (including the bike) is supplied. Some of our workshops include “____”, the workshop on brakes which covers the different types, and the workshop on transmission, to name but a few. We also organise fun and exciting events throughout the year.
Among these events, the most popular are our bike disco, the bicycle drive-in theatre, the bicycle brewery tours, the spring preparation day… Undergraduate students are automatically members and have free access to all services offered at the co-op. We also offer numerous volunteer opportunities divided into four (4) categories: mechanic, shop assistant, bicycle assemblers, other tasks.
