My name is Elnaz, a DVM student and the current Operations Commissioner of UOSU. With a successful first term, I’m stepping forward to continue our important work in delivering transparency in finances, ensuring smooth everyday operations, timely student group funding and levelling up our internal practices to ensure UOSU programming is the best it can be. Next term, I’m looking forward to reforecasting our budget, better supporting our Services, overseeing an audit and our transition away from big banks, and working with uOttawa to clarify our revenue streams and levies for better operations. Beyond daily tasks, I will explore enterprise pricing to give free premium Canva to clubs, help launch the Fund for Students with Disabilities, create a UOSU news billboard for students without social media, and ensure UOSU writes it’s first ever annual report, holding us accountable to students in outcomes and finances. Cast your vote October 6-10th!
"Hamza El Mendri, an international student from Morocco in Electrical Engineering. Like you, I know sleepless nights fueled by coffee, ambitions too big for our days, and the challenges that weigh on student life. Behind lectures and exams are isolation, pressure, the struggle for housing, food, transport, or jobs. I chose to turn these struggles into strength. I have worked, volunteered, and launched initiatives, always with one belief: we deserve better. We deserve a campus more supportive, vibrant, and responsive to student needs. I speak French, English, Spanish, and Arabic, and I am learning Mandarin and Slovak. I have lived in five countries and traveled from Casablanca to Sudbury, from Madrid to Montreal. This journey taught me our differences are not barriers but bridges. Fun fact: I love soccer, I’m learning guitar, I perform stand-up comedy, and I’ve even been on TV and radio in Toronto."

For the past three years, I’ve represented students from CEG, ELG, SEG, and BMDes through IEEE uOttawa, where I’m currently the president, advocating and pushing opportunities for engineering students. I’ve also served two years on ESS BoD, and this year, I’m proud to represent EECS students on the Faculty Council, giving engineering students a direct line to faculty decisions that impact our education. I’m running for the BoD because I believe engineering students deserve a strong voice at the table. Hello! My name is Justin, and I’m running for an Engineering seat on the UOSU Board of Directors. I’m in my fourth year of Computer Science (French Immersion Stream) and I transferred to uOttawa in 2024 from the University of Lethbridge, in my home province of Alberta. Thank you for reading!
Hi! My name is Eshaal Maher and I am a second year student in Health science at the University of Ottawa. I am running in the SEUO elections for the director of Health Science position, as I believe every student needs a voice and to feel represented on campus. As a student, especially in my second year, I understand the struggles of balancing an education, work, and personal life. That is why my goal for this election is to focus on making student life more reassuring, accessible, and definitely less nerve-wracking! My priorities lie with the students and that is ensuring that all student concerns are listened to, and met. My dedication, commitment, and fresh perspective can and will create a positive change. I want to represent you with transparency, passion, and care.Thank you for the trust and support!
Hello! My name is Yesha Villanueva, and I’m a third-year Health Science student at the University of Ottawa. I am excited to express my interest in serving on the SÉUO/UOSU Board of Directors for the remainder of the 2025-2026 year. I am fortunate to be a team executive for the UOttawa Blood Team and the UOttawa Chapter of The Canadian Courage Project. I believe that honest and equitable allocation of resources is central to keeping an engaged and vibrant student body. As a Director, I want to ensure students clearly understand where their funds are going and that they have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them. Through promotion of funding transparency and inclusivity, I hope to bring a perspective that reflects the diverse needs of UOttawa’s student body and ensure that every student feels represented at the table.
Having been a director for the 2024-2025 year, Farah’s eyes were opened to the number of opportunities that could be made available to students, but also to the number of barriers that students face just because of who they are - whether that is barriers in housing, finances, or even in where they’re from. With this in mind, Farah has made it her mission to bring equity and accountability back to our university. With her experience putting together the first Multi-Faith townhall, drafting the “Muslim and MENA Student’s Experience” report that demanded university efforts in fighting racism and Islamophobia on campus, and advocating for Palestinian support and divestment - Farah has made her objective clear - to build an environment where those who feel underrepresented are heard. To have an education in a place that feels safe, secure, and open is a right, and nothing less than that.
Hello, my name is Neal Singh, and I’m excited to be running in this election. I believe that leadership starts with listening and building strong connections within our community. My passion for soccer has shaped how I approach challenges: with teamwork, persistence, and a drive to improve every day. Just like on the field, I value collaboration, fairness, and making sure every voice counts. Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active, meeting new people, and finding ways to bring energy and positivity into the spaces I’m part of. I want to use this opportunity to represent students by being approachable, supportive, and committed to making our experience the best it can be. I’m running because I care about our community and believe we can achieve more when we work together. I would be honored to have your support.
