"Hamza El Mendri, an international student from Morocco in Electrical Engineering. Like you, I know sleepless nights fueled by coffee, ambitions too big for our days, and the challenges that weigh on student life. Behind lectures and exams are isolation, pressure, the struggle for housing, food, transport, or jobs. I chose to turn these struggles into strength. I have worked, volunteered, and launched initiatives, always with one belief: we deserve better. We deserve a campus more supportive, vibrant, and responsive to student needs. I speak French, English, Spanish, and Arabic, and I am learning Mandarin and Slovak. I have lived in five countries and traveled from Casablanca to Sudbury, from Madrid to Montreal. This journey taught me our differences are not barriers but bridges. Fun fact: I love soccer, I’m learning guitar, I perform stand-up comedy, and I’ve even been on TV and radio in Toronto."
