Hi! I’m Norah, and I’m running to stay as your Advocacy Commissioner!
Since being appointed as the interim commissioner in May, I have hit the ground running by expanding our advocacy campaigns, building new relationships and lobbying at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. I have represented uOttawa students at press conferences, marches and meetings with policy and decision makers to make sure that student voices are represented where it matters most!
Over the past few months, I have worked on issues such as housing, transit, climate, and student affordability (just to name a few). I’m ready to keep the momentum going. Give me your vote, and I promise to keep using my voice to amplify yours! Vote Norah!

Hey, I’m Arman E! Voting for me means shaping our university into a place where you can
reach your dreams. When you vote for me, I will listen to you - your thoughts, your feelings,
and your ideas. And while listening to you, I will improve the things that matter to us.
After getting to know us all, I have identified three areas that matter: social connection,
safety, and feeling capable of facing challenges. Voting for Arman E means feeling more
connected, feeling safer, and feeling more capable around university’s challenges. While
studying psychology, I learned that feeling safe and connected makes us feel more confident.
Want to learn more? Check out my Instagram @arman.e10. Vote for Arman E, and I really
look forward to getting to know you!

A proud Franco-Ontarian pursuing a combined Political Science and Juris Doctor degree at the University of Ottawa, Jacob Pilon brings years of experience in student advocacy, Francophone rights, and community mobilization.
Currently IPPSSA’s Director of Francophone Affairs, he previously served as Student Trustee representing over 11,000 students and President of Comité 73, a Francophone youth advocacy group defending French-language education. He has represented youth interests before political decision-makers, while demonstrating community leadership through his involvement with United Way SDG and Cornwall Culture Fest.
His candidacy is driven by a clear ambition, of making Francophone representation and linguistic rights institutional priorities. His platform calls for stronger linguistic rights protections, a Forum on the Future of Student Francophonie, greater community representation, and improved access to funding and resources.
Advocate. Mobilize. Unite. Empower. Four commitments to building a stronger, more inclusive, and influential Francophone student community.

Hi :) I’m Dan, former Deputy and current Interim Francophone Affairs Commissioner at UOSU.
Since January, I’ve helped run Espresso Yourself in French, with nearly 2,000 student visits: free coffee and pastries each week for YOU, plus a welcoming place to practise French. I’ve celebrated Acadian, Quebec and Franco-Ontarian communities, supported Francophonie Month, rebuilt francophone volunteering, launched the Instagram Franco channel and maintained the francophone calendar to share campus opportunities. I’ve also followed up on students’ linguistic-rights complaints with faculties.
Next, I’ll keep these free weekly gatherings going, help students access $22,500 in francophone engagement and French-learning scholarships, support ’ projects through micro-grants, and connect students with internships, jobs and professional networks through the Francophone Career Fair and monthly exchange circles. I’ll also launch Franco Meetup, spaces welcoming every French level.
My commitment: accessible support, more opportunities, and a commissioner who listens and acts.

Hi I am Brentan and I am running to represent the Faculty of Law (Common Law section) on the Board of Directors. I believe student life and community is as important as professional development in the legal field.
I am a second-year student in the English common law program. And previously I completed an Honours BSc in biomedical science. I know that student organizations can create unforgettable experiences when given the support and funding. My priorities are: transparency, fairness and honesty.

Hi everyone, my name is Evan, and I am a third year Translational Molecular Medicine (TMM) student here at uOttawa. For the 2026-2027 election, I’m running for the medicine Board of Directors position.
Previously, I served on the UOSU Science Board of Directors, helping organize student events, representing the voices of science students, and served as a head guide.
These experiences have taught me that good student leadership starts with listening. Whether it’s advocating for students, organizing events, or working through challenges, I believe students deserve representatives who are approachable, accountable, and willing to put in the work.
I’m excited to bring that mindset to this election and hopefully continue building a stronger student community!

Jacques Sagno is a first-year Civil Engineering student at the University of Ottawa, youth leader, and student-athlete committed to building stronger student communities and creating opportunities for students to grow and connect.
As a Youth Ambassador with Dare to Be You(th) charity, Jacques has developed experience in leadership, community engagement, public speaking, communications, and event organization. At uOttawa, he is also an Ambassador with the Engineering Student Societies’ Council of Ontario (ESSCO), continuing his involvement in Engineering and student leadership.
Through these experiences, Jacques has learned that meaningful representation begins with listening, understanding different perspectives, and creating space for people to be heard. As a candidate for the UOSU Board of Directors, he wants to bring that approach to representing Engineering students and contributing to decisions that affect their university experience.
Jacques hopes to be a representative who listens first, communicates openly, and turns students’ concerns into meaningful action.

Hey! My name is Kaitlin, and I’m a 4th-year Political Science student running to represent
FSS on the UOSU Board of Directors!
You may have seen me previously on the UOSU Instagram when I served as

where I saw firsthand the impact student representation can have.
I’m running because I’ve seen firsthand what student representation can accomplish, and I
want the opportunity to do it again. I’m passionate about helping others and ensuring FSS
students' wants and needs are heard and represented.

She has countless experiences participating in various provincial and national initiatives, such as being a Youth Advisor for the Canadian Commission of UNESCO Schools and advocating for the inclusion of immigrant youth in the New Brunswick school system by working alongside the Education and Early Childhood Development Department of the provincial government. In addition, she represented her home province of New Brunswick at the Youth Parliament of Canada.

I am Renata Lobb, a Telfer Commerce student (Marketing, Business Analytics, and Economics), and I am running to represent Telfer on the UOSU Board of Directors.
For too long, Telfer students have not had a real voice at the UOSU. Our clubs are not getting UOSU funding, we rarely connect with other faculties, and most of us do not know what our fees already offer. I am running to change that.
On the Board, I will focus on four priorities.
Your money: clear answers on where your fees go.
Clubs that thrive: fair UOSU funding for Telfer clubs.
Your success and wellbeing: support that is easy to find when you need it.
Beyond Telfer: connections with students across campus.
I have worked on Parliament Hill and at the University of Ottawa, so I know how institutions make decisions and how to get answers. I am ready to be Telfer’s voice.

My name is Adam Chambers, and I am running for the Faculty of Arts position on the University of Ottawa Senate because Arts students deserve strong, accountable representation in the decisions that shape our academic experience.
I am running to represent all Arts students. At a time when the value of the arts, humanities, fine arts, languages, and other fields is too often overlooked, I will stand up for the importance of our programs and our education.
As an Anglophone, I continue to work on improving my French and recognize the importance of our University’s bilingual identity. I will advocate for stronger access to French-language courses and opportunities for Francophone students.
Through my experience in student governance and advocacy, I understand the importance of listening and bringing student concerns to the table. My goal is simple: to listen, show up, and be a strong voice for our Faculty.

Tristan Bazinet is a fourth-year Bachelor of Human Kinetics student at the University of Ottawa with a strong interest in health promotion, physical activity, and student well-being.

He is also involved with the Health and Wellness Centre as both a staff member and volunteer, including with the Nutritional and Physical Health (PWE) team and as an HPV Education and Vaccination Campaign Ambassador.
Outside the university, Tristan works as Club Manager and Head Pro at the Blackburn Tennis Club, where he oversees staff, programs, scheduling, events, and day-to-day operations.
Through these experiences, Tristan has developed strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. As a candidate for the Faculty of Health Sciences Senate seat, he hopes to bring a student perspective to university governance and contribute to discussions surrounding student health, well-being, and the overall university experience.

Looking for research or volunteer opportunities? Preparing to enter the workforce or apply to professional or graduate school? Hoping to connect with health professionals? Concerned by academic policies, including deferred exams? I hear you, and I want to help!
Hi FHS! I'm Grace! After three years representing students in university governance and leading Connecting Young Minds (CYM) @cymottawa, I have learned how much meaningful support matters.
From helping raise $50,000+ for undergraduate research to completing my honours thesis and earning medical and graduate school acceptances, I have gained experience I want to share with YOU!
My priorities: accessible research and volunteering, career and admissions workshops, professional mentorship, fairer academic policies, and transparent Senate updates.
Above all, I want you to feel heard, supported, and confident that someone is advocating for you. I would be honoured to represent you!
Grace Tongue for Senate :)

Hello! I'm Patricia Defo, a Health Sciences undergraduate at the University of Ottawa and VP University Affairs of the Health Sciences Students’ Association (HSSA).
Alongside representing students at the faculty level, I serve as Events Supervisor for the UOSU Food Bank and Administrative Clerk in the Faculty of Medicine’s Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office. These roles have given me valuable experience in student representation, campus services, and university administration.
I'm running for Senate because student representation shouldn't stop at the faculty level. My slogan, “Your Voice, at Every Level,” reflects my commitment to ensuring student perspectives are heard wherever academic decisions are made.
My priorities include improving access to undergraduate research, advocating for clearer academic processes, and helping students explore diverse health career pathways.
I look forward to connecting with more Health Sciences students, hearing your perspectives, and continuing to represent your interests across our university.

Hi! My name is Huy Nguyen, and I’m a third-year Translational and Molecular Medicine student running to represent you on the Senate for Medicine. Over the past year, I’ve been deeply involved in our campus community, from representing science students as a Second-Year Representative on the Science Students Association and pacing for UottaRun Club, to serving as a first responder on VCRT.
If elected, my goals are clear:
1. Advocate for better academic resources, especially study spaces and exam support.
2. Strengthen transparency so students know how Senate decisions affect them.
3. Build a stronger sense of community across the Faculty of Science.
I’m dedicated to representing student voices with energy, inclusivity, and a commitment to making meaningful change on Senate.

As a second-year Biomedical Sciences student, I am running to be your next Faculty of Science Senator.
My involvement in various committees during high school earned me the Quebec Lieutenant Governor's Medal. At university, my commitment to two clubs has strengthened my desire to become more involved and to build a strong bridge between the student community and the Faculty administration.
The Senate shapes our academic regulations. As a Senator, I will ensure your voices are heard through two clear priorities: academic equity and accessibility. I will ensure that policies and regulations remain realistic and fair and I will facilitate access to resources and centralize the information crucial to your success.
Together, let's move our Faculty forward! Vote Gabi, it's the key!

Hey SCIENCE! I’m JOHN SURETTE, and I study Biomedical and Computer Science to advance longevity (technology to treat aging)! I love learning, especially about frontier research and people who dedicate themselves to science.
The Science Senator represents our voices in university decisions that shape our academic and student success, which I have been devoting myself to, and will continue to. From my time as 101Week Guide, Biomedical Representative, and SSA executive, I will use my understanding to improve our experience at uOttawa.
Now in my final year, I am committed to representing us in front of uOttawa leadership in the Senate. I aspire to enable you and future students to explore our curiosity and ambitions through advocacy and policy: encouraging uOttawa to focus on the essence of your education. Vote JOHN, and you can find me to share YOUR ideas, vision, and support for the Faculty of Science.

As a second-year Biomedical Science student at the University of Ottawa, I want to make university more supportive and connected for Science students. As a former Student Trustee and Western Regional Representative for the Ontario Student Trustees' Association, I gained experience advocating for students and bringing their concerns to provincial decisionmakers. As VP Marketing for uOttawa Global Medical Brigades, I have strengthened my connections in our community.
Outgoing and approachable, I love connecting with people. As Faculty of Science Senator, I want to ensure Science students are represented in university-wide decisions while advocating for accessible academic support, including help centers and lab resources. I also hope to connect students with professors and upper-year mentors, making research and academic opportunities easier to navigate. Beyond academics, I want to foster an inclusive campus where students feel heard, find their community, and enjoy a fulfilling university experience.
