  • About: Founded in 2017, The University of Ottawa Animal Rights Association seeks to bring like-minded student animal rights activists together to educate others on the ways in which animals are treated in the entertainment, fashion, and agriculture industries. The UOARA’s goal is to provide vegan, vegetarian, and non-veg students on campus a safe, open and friendly environment to learn about and participate in the animal rights movement. Our events include charity vegan bake sales, documentary screenings, leaf-letting and informational tabling focused on common questions about animal rights and veganism.

  • About: Based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Anishnaabeg territory, we are part of the climate and environmental justice movement following the lead of the most impacted communities to ensure a liveable climate for future generations. Through empowering communities, we challenge political systems that do not align with an equitable and healthy planet. We participate in the process of reconciliation and decolonization, and support First Nations, Métis and Inuit self-determination. We work in a proactive way towards collectively-defined goals, while understanding the necessity for reactionary mobilization in climate organizing, particularly in the national capital.
